General Manager
Carlos grew up in California, served in the US Army Military Police Corp, Hospitality experience began as a server for Consolidated restaurant operations (El Chico Mexican Restaurant) and moved his way to regional manager over a ten-year span. Began Hotel career with Embassy Suites Hot Springs where he served as AGM/F&B Director/Executive Chef for 10 years. Came to current property and went through an $8 million renovation project which became the Hotel Hot Springs and has served as the General Manager since completion.
Director of Sales
Barrie Kiger Nagy has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the hospitality industry. She began her career in 1994 at the Park Hilton Hotel in Hot Springs, AR as a Sales Manager. Barrie has lived in Hot Springs since 1987 after moving from Woodbury, MN. Her experience includes hotel sales at the Fairmont Hotel Dallas where she trained in New York and Boston under Hospitality Management Solutions, pre-opening Director of Sales for Embassy Suites Hot Springs where she completed revenue management courses through Hilton Hotels. In 2015 she became the Director of Sales & Catering for two properties; Delta Resort & Spa and The Hotel Hot Springs. In her current role, she oversees the Sales & Catering team for the Hotel Hot Springs.
Sales Manager
A graduate of Henderson State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Jason Newton brings a breath of knowledge and experience to his position as Corporate Sales Manager for The Hotel Hot Springs. He began his career in the hospitality industry as the Director of Catering for the Clarion on the Lake in Hot Springs coordinating corporate receptions, social events and weddings. With over ten (10) years of experience in the hospitality industry, Jason brings patience and an enthusiasm for customer satisfaction to each event.
Human Resource Manager/Accounting
Connie graduated from Mountain Pine High School as an honor student and played basketball and work as an assistant to the Supt. Secretary in 1973. Attended Garland County Community College which is now known as the National Park College in 1973-1974 where she studied Business Secretarial/Accounting.
Worked for Weyerhaeuser for 14 years as a Utility Relief Operator and in 1987 continue my education at Southern Technical College with an Associate degree in Business Secretarial. 1989 work as an Accounting Clerk was promoted to Asst. Controller in 1991 and promoted to Human Resource Director in 1993 for The Park Hilton Hotel and Austin Hotel. Connie is an entrepreneur in 1997 open Sisters (Family Affair) Salon in Hot Springs, AR.
Connie’s current role is the Human Resource Manager/Accounting for The Hotel Hot Springs. She loves the challenge of placing individuals according to their strength and weakness where they can shine the most.
Catering Sales Manager
Terri Burkett has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. She began her career in 2000 as Catering Manager at The Austin Hotel & Convention Center. Prior to her catering position, Terri served our Country for six year in the U.S. Air Force.
Her experience includes the Director of Catering role at Clarion Resort on the Lake in Hot Springs overseeing menu selections, logistical planning, event services for clients and supervising banquet staff of 5 to 7 employees. She became the Operations Manager for Clarion Resort to supervise Front Desk employees, handle accounting daily duties and Human Resources for the property. Her current role is Catering Sales Manager with Hotel Hot Springs and currently oversees all catering & banquet events.
